Wednesday, August 11 - Topic: Promoting Yourself in an Employer Marketplace and Dealing with Difficult Employees
Speaker: Beth Kirby, HR Director
The changing economy has changed the way employers hire. The shift to an employer marketplace means there are more applicants than jobs, many over-qualified and willing to work for far less money. During this session, Beth discussed both hiring and promoting yourself in an employer marketplace. Beth also shared tips for dealing with difficult employees.

Patricia, aka Trish shared how we can all utilize guided imagery (even if you have trouble visualizing!) to create relaxation and better manage stress in ways that you can start using today.

Thom Cody of Pathmakers joined us in March to discuss the change process and how to work through it. As you move through the 4 stages, initiation, confusion, clarity and launching, there are constant internal and external drivers tempting you to opt-out. Understanding the 9 barriers and how to overcome them will assist you and your team in maintaining focus. As you work through the process, remember the regulating tension will always remain at the center to ensure non-complacency. So, the next time your company declares a reorganization, remember the stress is necessary and the more you prepare for the 9 barriers, the more smoothly your change process will run.
February 10, 2010 - Topic: Women's Heart Health
Speaker: Kelly Galler, NP
In her 10 years as a Nurse Practitioner specializing in cardiovascular prevention and the last 5 as a Cardiac Clinical Nurse Specialist at Bellin Health, Kelly has taught hundreds of women about heart health. Kelly is actively involved in the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, is on the committee for the Green Bay Heart Walk and manages the Bellin Heart Blog. During this talk, Kelly reviewed the facts about women and heart disease, risk factors and how to reduce your risks. She also discussed how you can make improvements in your cardiovascular health by making some simple life changes.
